Charli Rae Warren doesn’t plan on
striking it rich as the owner of an independent bookstore in Hazel
Rock, Texas—especially one with a pink armadillo as its mascot. But
when an ingenious advertising campaign puts her business on the map,
it ropes in some deadly publicity . . .
Charli can’t believe writer Lucy Barton has agreed to promote her latest
Midnight Poet Society novel at The Book Barn Princess—or that
there’s only a week-and-a-half to prepare for the signing. It’s
all because of The Book Seekers, a smartphone app created by her
cousin Jamal exclusively for Charli’s bookstore, which sends fans
on a virtual scavenger hunt around town for a chance to meet the
bestselling author. But as soon as it goes live, people turn up dead
. . .
Someone’s using The Book Seekers to track victims and copycat the fictional Midnight
Poet Society homicides, and horrified locals suspect Jamal could be
the mastermind behind the crimes. While Charli readies the Barn for a
stampede of new customers, it’ll take true grit to shelve the
culprit before her brainy cousin gets locked behind bars, Ms. Barton
backs out of the visit, and she finds herself up a creek—with a
serial killer holding the paddle!

Three career paths resonated for Kym
Roberts
during her early childhood: detective, investigative
reporter, and . . .nun. Being a nun, however, dropped by the wayside
when she became aware of boys—they were the spice of life she
couldn’t deny. In high school her path was forged when she took her
first job at a dry cleaners and met every cop in town, especially the
lone female police officer in patrol. From that point on there was no
stopping Kym’s pursuit of a career in law enforcement. Kym followed
her dream and became a detective who fulfilled her desire to be an
investigative reporter, with one extra perk—a badge. Promoted to
sergeant, Kym spent the majority of her career in SVU. She retired
from the job reluctantly when her husband dragged her kicking and
screaming to another state, but writing continued to call her name,
at least in her head. Visit her on the web at kymroberts.com.

There are moments in time that stand out more than others: your first kiss,
a special birthday party, seeing your baby for the first time, an
intimate conversation, a first date, even something as little as
sitting around a dining room table with friends. This is the story of
the moments that stood out after I first laid eyes on Noah Gish. ~
Claire Sawyer
The city, it used to be a place I loved and missed with an ache in my
gut. It was home. The place where I grew up, where I had fun, where I
had my friends, where life was as good as I knew it to be. Then I was
shipped off to a place that begins the story of how I fell in love,
just to screw everything up. ~ Noah Gish
This is a contemporary romance about first love and heartbreak.

mis- excerpt

“Don’t talk like that.” This is not something I’m used to hearing from Noah. Never Noah. Noah is always so in control and self-assured. To know he thinks I could tear his world apart like that frightens me. “Nothing is going to happen, and you won’t ever lose me. But what if I lost you?”

Noah looks at me then, his eyes declaring that that would never happen, but I continue.

“What if you left me? Do you know that scares me? That you might get bored of me and go back to your old ways. Leave me in ruins over you.”

Noah shakes his head back and forth as I keep talking.

“I would still live, but I wouldn’t be happy. I don’t think I could ever be happy again if I lost you. You came into my life so unexpectedly, and I was drawn to you from the first second I saw you. I tried to fight the attraction. I was determined to stick to my plan: finish school, tutor for ungodly hours, and just leave the town behind me. But you captured me and haven’t let me go … yet. So I ask myself all the time: When is Noah going to let go?”

“Never,” Noah growls.

Literature is my passion. I like to challenge myself and grow in my writings. I
have many unfinished books and some that have been published under a
different name. Why I chose to do this is because of my writing
growth and the differentiation in genre. I don’t want my future books
to be judged by the inexperience of my past writings. Though I love
those books, they came out of nowhere and it’s apparent in the
writings they were a first draft from someone with no experience.
My passions include the arts–music, photography, writing, dance,
painting, films, architecture, anything that is creation. There is
not much I don’t like; and if I don’t like it, I at least appreciate
the process that took place to create it. This is something
incorporated in all my books. I’ve known so many talented people, and
truly believe no one is without a talent. Everyone has something
ingrained in them; just naturally gives them the ability to create
new life in the form of art.
In my spare time, which is basically non-existent between my day job and
writing, I enjoy being out in nature, travelling, spending time with
family, and reading. I read everything, from contemporary to
paranormal, from historical romance to erotica, from history to
science. Learning is something very important to me. I really do
learn something new everyday, my brain storing so much useless to
life-saving information. My brain, the sponge.
