Tapped
The Brewing Passion Series #1
By Liz Crowe
Genre: NA Romance
When wealthy brewery owner Austin Fitzgerald meets sexy saleswoman Evelyn
Benedict, angry sparks fly. They seem destined to clash, until a hot
hookup in a cold beer cooler changes everything.
For Austin, it’s a life-altering moment that sets him on a path away from
his birthright, while Evelyn must face her fears about committing to
a man considered the playboy of the micro-brewing world.
The power of preconceived notions nearly tears them apart—until they
meet up with brew master Ross, who opens their eyes to a deeper, even
more erotic connection.
But three strong personalities don’t
always make for the best emotional mix and when a simple
misunderstanding causes chaos, it’s up to Ross to somehow repair
the tattered shreds of their relationship.
tap-excerptSensing the heat of Evelyn’s fury as he finalized another large order, he excused himself and made his way toward the restroom. The tuning-fork sensation had morphed into a dull ache centered in his gut, which steadily made its way down to his balls.

When he emerged—after splashing water on his face enough times to calm the hardening in his jeans—he almost plowed straight into her. He gripped her arms to keep her from falling and the impulses that had bounced around in his brain since the morning nearly brought him to his knees. He dropped his hands and looked away, swallowing back the urge to say something, anything, to convince her he wasn’t such a bad guy.

“Sorry.”

Her voice was flat. He took a step back, stopped only when his butt hit the wall. The space between them filled with near-visible silence, but he didn’t move.

“I don’t know how I’m doing it, but the longer we work together, the more sales I make, and the more you hate me. Clue me in here, Benedict. I thought sales were the goal of the day.” He crossed his arms, holding them close to his chest so she couldn’t gauge how shaky his hands had gotten.

She swallowed, and he watched the exquisite warm peach hue of her skin redden. Admiring the line of her neck, her jaw, the plump fullness of her lower lip as she bit it, a nervous tic he’d love to come to love, if she’d let him, Austin sensed himself falling deeper into a very scary hole. Her ongoing silence took on a life of its own.

“Well? I left my secret-sales-goal decoder ring at home. You obviously have a different agenda for today. I get it. ‘Prove to the rich boy he doesn’t have what it takes’ is fine, but we could have saved some time if you’d just told me first.”

She opened her lips, then pressed them together and shouldered past him. He watched, fascinated, as his hand reached out of its own accord and snagged her arm. She stopped, stared at it, then up at him. When he realized the blue of her eyes was brighter because of tears, he hesitated. Female tears always unnerved him, but his chest tightened in a thoroughly alarming way at the thought of having caused her unhappiness.

He let go. “Sorry. I didn’t mean to…”

In a split second, her beautiful face was within inches of his. “Don’t flatter yourself. I’m just pissed off. You’ve had that effect on me since I first laid eyes on you, so yeah, I guess I set you up. But apparently, all your country-club, private-school time has been worth it. Bullshitting comes naturally to you. And that’s all this job is. A whole barrel of bullshit.”

She stomped away before he could speak or, even better, grab her and kiss her. The space she vacated quivered with anger. But her crisp perfume stayed in his nose and he had to clench his hands into fists to keep from shoving her up against the wall and kissing her until she saw it his way.

Only a Duke Will Do by Tamara Gill – Release Day Blitz

20/02/17

Only a Duke Will Do
To Marry a Rogue Series
Book Two
Tamara Gill
Genre: Regency Historical Romance
Publisher: Entangled – Select Historical
Date of Publication: February 20, 2017
Number of pages: 300+
Word Count: 80,000
Cover Artist: Erin Dameron-Hill
Book Description:
Without a Season, Lady Isolde Worthingham captured the Duke of Moore’s heart at a country dance. But on the eve of her wedding, a scandal that rocked the ton and sent her fleeing to Scotland alone and unwed, leaves her perfectly planned future in a tangle of disgrace and heartbreak.
Merrick Mountshaw, the Duke of Moore loathes the pitiful existence he hides from the ton. With a scandalous wife he never wanted, who flaunts her many indiscretions, life is a never-ending parade of hell. When the one woman he loved and lost returns to London, he knows he can no longer live without her.
But vows and past hurts are not easily forgotten. Love may not win against the ton when a too proper Lord and Lady play by the rules.
Excerpt:
“I’ve lost him.
And I love him still.” Her voice broke at the realization.
Her mother
shushed her, pulling her into an embrace. “I know, darling. I know you do. But
there is nothing for it now. You will have to return with us to Dunsleigh.”
Isolde thought
of all she had lost, not just Merrick, but her future, their plans. Their trip
away to the Continent, Paris, Rome, and all the delightful places in between
that they were going to visit, crumbled in her chest like her heart. “He’s
really going to marry her, isn’t he?” Even saying such a thing sounded absurd,
and yet it was the truth. The truth as she would know it from tonight onward.
“Yes, he is.”
Her mother’s face was a mask of concern and pain. “I’m so sorry, darling. You
did not deserve this.”
Isolde strove to
calm down before her sobs woke her sisters and they started with their meddling
questions. Her body hiccupped for breath; her eyes, so swollen and sore, hurt
when she blinked.
“Come, you must
sleep.” Her mother helped her stand, and Isolde didn’t fight her decree.
Tiredness would succeed over her mind and, for a sweet moment, she’d forget
what had transpired this night. It was enough to make her lie down and try.
She settled
under the blankets. The maid knocked on the door and her mother ushered her into
the room, taking possession of the glass of whisky and a cold compress. Isolde
downed the drink in one gulp, grateful for the burning amber liquid and the
cooling cloth against her eyes.
The tears
started afresh when the comforting embrace of her mother wrapped around her,
pulling her close and holding her as if to never let her go. Not since she was
a child had her mother acted in such a way, and some of the despair left her,
knowing she had the support of her family.
She would need
them in the months to come.
She took a
shuddering breath. How could a night once filled with so much excitement and
anticipation twist into such despair and horror? Rolling onto her side, the
ring Merrick had given her pressed into her cheek.
She held out her
hand and looked at the cluster of five round diamonds, each of them encased in
a bed of silver and sitting on a band of gold that was etched into a leaflike
pattern. The ring had been Merrick’s grandmother’s, and it had been the most
beautiful gift Isolde had ever received.
But no longer.
Now it represented a fractured circle of trust, pulled apart and unfixable.
She yanked it
off, unable to throw it no matter how much she longed to. She reached over and
placed it on the cabinet beside her bed, looking at it as it twinkled prettily
under the candlelight. The ring and its beauty were as fickle as its owner.

Exit Signs by Patrice Locke – Book Tour + #Giveaway

Exit Signs
by Patrice Locke
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Researcher Tracy Price is trying to find a dead writer and forget a live
musician.
Rock star Jesse Elliot is sure Tracy is demented, and she believes he
wouldn’t recognize the truth in a lineup of Bibles. Their only hope
is to stop trying to read each other’s minds and start speaking
their own.
Anyone who has ever had a crush, felt betrayed, or been forgiven will
appreciate Tracy’s struggle to claim the life she never knew she
wanted.

Jesse raked some strands of his blue-black hair away from his forehead. The hair fell right back onto the shoreline of his face like a wave on a beach. I thought of the cliché movie scene where the action cuts to an agitated ocean to symbolize sex. I cleared my throat, and ordered myself to get a grip.

Instead, I surprised us both by asking him my name. “Tracy Price?”

Yes.” He confirmed my identity. “It’s nice to meet you.”

He was all-business; I was all over the place.

This was how a romance novel would begin, and, as the designated hero, he was free to relax and be two-dimensional for now. I’d provide the script because I thought I knew the genre, but I had it wrong from the start because, on second thought, he was from another planet. He had to be. And if this was science fiction, anything could happen. Aliens are tricky.

When he sat next to me I wanted to leap up and run away. Instead, I asked, “How do you like Albuquerque?Very original, Tracy. What I wondered was, How does it feel to look like you do?

I like it,” he said, answering both my questions. “I like it so far.”

I felt a surge of power. “I bet. And how long are you staying?” Or, more to the point, would it be too forward of me to sit on your lap?

I can’t say yet. Maybe six weeks? This was kind of an unexpected trip.” Bingo. Both questions addressed.

This was working. Let me know when you decide about the lap thing. I covered my mouth for a fake cough to clear my head.

We were silent. I was contemplating his perfection. Maybe he was, too.

As a journalist, Patrice Locke wrote a lot of stories with unhappy and
even tragic endings.
Facts are facts, and a writer doesn’t mess with facts.
But fiction is another world. Patrice began writing novels, where she can
control the endings and make them as happy as she wants. The best
thing about fiction, she says, is having time to think before her
characters speak, so they can say the things most of us only come up
with after the perfect moment has passed.
She loves to write, read, and watch romantic comedies where life always
turns out the way it should. Her only obsessive relationships are
with semicolons and Oxford commas.
Though she doesn’t like to brag, Patrice is an award-winning artist. She won
a gold and diamond watch when she was 13 for decorating a turkey
drumstick bone to look like Batman. Alas, that was her last
recognition in the fine arts.
Patrice lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico, not far from her daughter Kaitlin,
eight hours from her son Trevor, and way too many miles from amazing
grandsons Alexander and Zackary.

Help Wanted by Allison B. Hanson – Cover Reveal

by Allison B. Hanson
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Pub Date:9/12/2017

Who said mixing work and pleasure
was a bad idea?
For Kenley Carmichael, getting fired
for sleeping with the boss’s husband is almost funny—at 28, she’s
still a virgin. Not that her now ex-boss would believe it—Kenley’s
got the face and figure to attract plenty of men, even if she’s
never found the right one. A job at New Haven Custom Boats is a
chance to start fresh and learn a whole new skill set. Trouble is,
she can’t stop wishing her incredibly hot new boss would introduce
her to some decidedly un-businesslike pleasure . . .
Zane Jackson needs a new assistant, but
when his pregnant sister hires her replacement, she chooses a girl
who reminds him of the kind who broke his heart in high school. Zane
might not be that shy boy anymore, but sweet, sexy Kenley makes him
feel every bit as awkward as he did then—and even hungrier to kiss
her. She’s the perfect woman for the job—but he wants her to be
so much more.
Interoffice dating can only lead to
trouble—unless it leads to true love . . .
Allison B. Hanson lives near Hershey,
Pennsylvania. Her novels include women’s fiction, paranormal,
sci-fi, fantasy, and mystery suspense. She enjoys candy immensely, as
well as long motorcycle rides and reading.

Spy Game: Romantic Suspense

Spy Game: Romantic Suspense by Suz deMello

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was unsure what to expect when I started to read this book, but I am pleased to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ani Sharif is an agent with the USSA and an excellent hacker. The only thing is, she has never been in the field until the need arises for her to go undercover in Silicon Valley at Rexford.com. This is where she meets Richard Rexford or Sexy Rexy, as he is known. Richard is the owner of the company and suspected of selling classified, security software to the Chinese. Ani has to get close to Richard to get access to his laptop. Ani is a strong, independent young woman who is also vulnerable and inexperienced in the relationship area. With the assistance of her sister, who like her was adopted by their parents. The two infiltrate Silicon Valley to find out the truth and identify the traitor.
The characters in this story are likable and believable. The story reads well and is a definite page turner. With a plot that is paced well, I would definitely recommend this book

The legend of the soul mate tree:

I am old, I am ancient, my purpose is clear

To give those who are needy a treasure so dear.

They who come to my roots, touch my bark, stroke my leaves

Find the soul of their lives if they but believe.

When I call and you listen, your prize will be great

If your heart remains open and you don’t hesitate.

Do you yearn? Be you lonely? Is your time yet at hand?

Reach for me and I’ll give to you. I’m yours to command.

For your trust, for your faith, keep my secrets untold

And I’ll gift you forever, to have and to hold.

Excerpt

As they made their way to the festival site, Rose and her friends grooved to the music coming from the stage.

When they reached the makeshift bridge over the road, someone yelled, “Hey beautiful! You with the red hair.”

She looked around to see if there was anyone else with red hair. Then she glanced up and spotted two guys, one blond and the other dark-haired, leaning over the side of the bridge.

“Yeah, you,” the blond called out as he caught her gaze.

Willow halted beside her. “He’s cute. How about him?”

Rose looked away, her gaze landing on the other guy.

He jabbed his companion in the ribs. “Quit trying to pick up every girl you see.” Then he leaned farther over the rail. “Don’t pay any attention to him. He’s high.”

“So she’s not beautiful?” Willow yelled to the hippie.

She poked her friend. “Stop it, Willow, you’re making a scene.” In spite of her protest, her gaze remained on the dark-haired guy.

He rested his elbows on the rail and stared back at her. The intensity of his expression shot heat into her belly.

“I didn’t say that, just that she shouldn’t pay attention to him.” He flapped a hand at his blond buddy, then tapped his own chest with his thumb several times as if to say, ‘Choose me!’

Does he want me to pay attention to him? Her heart thumped in rhythm to his jabbing thumb.

“Take that one,” Willow whispered. “He’s the real cutie.”

Before she could respond, the crowd pushed them forward. When they reached the other side of the bridge, she looked back, searching for the dark-haired hippie, but the spot where he’d stood was empty.

Just my luck. I see someone who’s intriguing and he disappears.

With a sigh, she continued the trek to the festival grounds.
